A friend of mine works in a Honda dealership, and has offered me to refill my A/C system - which is full of hot air.

He asked me to check how much R134a I needed in my car, and the Haynes manual tells me between 24.5 and 27.5 ounces. However, the machine they have at his workplace is metric - of course, working on Hondas in Canada...

Is it a simple matter of converting ounces to grams in this case? (Which would give 694.5 to 779.6 grams). Or is there something else I should know before I get there??

Thanks!

the high pressure switch on my 96 contour gave out and the pressure build up to high and the high pressure side fill valve blew... bought a new one for $20.. replaced it and used two cans of R134 to fill it up....look on the R134 cans to see how much they hold( i am sure they have the metric equivalents)....
i just checked one of my old cans and it was 12 Oz.
= (340 g.) hope this helps...

Thanks for the tip... I went to the Honda dealership where my friend works, and after filling the system we had a major leak... So we had to empty the system...

He wanted to put 750 grams of R134a in it, but after 650 the system just wouldn't take it - maybe it was already leaking, but I don't think so..

Compressor works - the temperature at the vents was 9 degrees (Celsius) - 48 deg F.

I have an appointment tomorrow to have the condenser checked, the leak was very near the fittings... hope it won't cost too much!
