I've got a '96 Mystique with a 2.0L engine. I have 157 000km's on her. I was waiting to change my timing belt until later this summer, but my temperature went right up and I seemed to be losing some coolant from the lower passenger side of the engine, so I changed my timing belt as well as my serp. belt and water pump.

Since leaving the garage, my car seemed to run fine, but when I came to an idle at a light, my temp started to climb again.

Will a bad thermostat cause this? I can't see the leak but you can smell it and this is really starting to boggle me. Thanks.
