I just got my springs from BAT. On another thread I had read that some of you guys running the BAT springs that you cut the plastic tubing that is wrapped on the spring so that you could lower the car more. does doing this make the spring squeak or make any noise during cornering? What are they for?

Your springs will creak if you remove them. When you install the springs on the struts, you'll notive the bottom 2 rungs contact each other. The plastic will keep them from rubbing or moving against each other, and keep them quiet.
Besides...look at the thickness of the plastic...is that a drastic lowering amount?

I really don't want to remove them, but I read from the archives of people complaining that this springs with Bilsteins had raised their height above stock. So they called BAT and BAT suggested they remove the tubing. Have you heard of this lowering kit changing your height?

Bro,
My BAT kit is low...and looks nice! I sent pics to a fellow bro on here, as he was scared that the BAT kit didn't drop enough. After the pics...he was convinced.
Don't take them off...

I have the BAT springs and those Bilstein struts on my CSVT and it doesn indeed take some time to lower down. I kept my "rubbers on", but BAT did say I could remove them and the car would lower about 1/4", but I thought I'd wait it out and I'm glad I did. Right now my car, w/ P215/45/17's, sits a hair over 26" in the front and about 25.5-3/4" in the rear, but the suspension only has about 6 weeks and about 1200 miles on it, give or take.

I was at an auto cross this past Saturday and the 2 Tours that were running had BAT springs. 1 had the ST200 struts and the other had Bilsteins. The car with ST200's was definately lower. My car with ST200's sits low as well. It seems like the Sprintlines dictate how low it goes but I don't know how that can be. It's the springs that dictate the height. Strange.

Do both types of shocks use similar gas pressures. I believe the Bilstein sport shocks use high pressure gas which effectively raises the spring rate raising the suspension height some.

The Bilsteins are VERY agressive-acting struts. They keep the car feeling tight and buttoned down at well over 120 mph. Mine sits about 25.5" in the rear and 26" in the front right now. For some reason the drivers side of the car sits ever so slightly higher, maybe 3/16" to 1/4".
