Will it fit the Contour 98 GL? Also, is it an easy install for somebody that never did this mod before? Yes and Yes. This would have to be the easy suspension mod to do.

Also, if anyone in the Atlanta area is interested in this mod, but maybe doesn't have the tools or a place to do it, the BTR shop is always open. Due to some pending uhh, legal matters(j/k), all work is performed in exchange for beer and pizza. dan

Aussie,
Thanks for the previous answers.
Another question. The bushings that are provided, are they high quality bushings (my understand after reading was that yes)? If so, what brand name?
Since I'm a newbie, is it strongly suggested to get two bars, front and rear?
I'll let you know by the end of the week if I'm in the group buy.

I'm not Aussie, but I can answer those questions for you.
The bushings are Prothane as stated by Aussie earlier in this thread.
Very few people mess with the front sway bars on these cars, as there's not much reason to do so except for an all out road-racing setup. Just do the rear and you will be set.
Fwiw, I'm pretty sure SVT's have a 19mm front sway bar, as opposed to the 20mm unit found in the rest of the line. This was done for a more neutral balance. I suppose a non-svt owner could put one in if they wanted to, but I've never heard of anyone doing that. I seem to recall that the front bar is a real bear to remove.

Aussie, My only concern is the fact that the SCA bars invariably clunk without welding in some endlink support braces. Any idea as to why one bar would and one bar wouldnt clunk?? Ive got an SCA bar still in my garage and I'm still thinking about installing it but Im not too thrilled with the idea of paying another $40 for the endlinks + the cost of welding (which will probably equal the cost of your bar). So I guess my concern is that the clunk may show up over time - what do you think? Otherwise, Id probably get on board - looks like a very nice piece. Well done!
Will you be selling these down the road? Do you also include the poly endlink bushings as well as the poly sway bar bushings?
