You should not have to change either the plugs or the oil. If you are changing the oil and or the plugs anyway because they are due, change after the treatment.
Either the aerosol method or the liquid method work fine. I think you can get a bit more material into the system faster with the liquid so it may clean a bit better, but I doubt that the difference is all that much. I've done it both ways, and i kind of like the liquid way better, but the aorosol method is easier.
You really should clean the throttle body at the same time as well as add a can of injector cleaner to the fuel tank to finish cleaning the combustion chambers as well as the injectors.

Why would you not want to change the oil after doing the B-12 manifold cleaning technique? You will have all that build-up and junk dripping down into your oil pan.

also, will doing it this way get the valves clean? my exhaust valves were pretty gunked up but i didnt want to spray them directly and gunk up the area around them.

I just do it right before my scheduled oil change, just as an added preventitive measure. I thought that's what you recommended before Jim?

Um, this is related.
I need to know what size vacuum hose and "nipple" to get with the can b12, nowhere around me sells the kit =[.
Unless taking the maf off and spraying inside is much easier?
thanks.

svt4b, You can actually use B-12 as a fuel injector cleaner. The can says to use 16 oz. of B-12 for 16-20 gallons of gas. I am going to try using that in my tank tomorrow. I will let you know if I notice a difference.

This is my preference. I usually do it at the same time as an oil change. At work, these services are done irrespective of each other and it doesn't seem to hurt anything.

i use the berryman's b-12 stuff for that too, the liquid of course. on the can it says to only put in so much, but i just dumped in the whole can, worked as far as i can tell
