My wife and I willing be flying down to Orlando, FL on July 4th. We will be staying at Sheridan World. Bought us a suite there. I guess this place is off International, which I hear is the main strip for things down there. Can anyone from the area tell me where I should spend a lot of our time? This will be my first time there so I don't want to be completely lost. Will be leaving July 11th.

Thanks,
Sam

I-drive is a good place since you are basically in the middle of everything. I would, if I were you, check out the outlet malls since they are right there, USF (Universal Sutdios Fla), Disney (of course) and if you are daring enough downtown Orlando.

There is really so much to do that 1 week wont be enough time to do it all. You need to figure out what is more important and go from there.

Heck you could spend a week at Disney alone and not see everything that they have to offer.

If you end up going to Disney, get all of your meals in the World Showcase at Epcot. Much better food, much less crowded than the rest of Disney, & a few leasurely ride thingies to go on while you digest your meal. You can even pick up some nice German beer & wine to take back with you.

Line dancing at Cowboys is a lot of fun. I figured you might wanna teach them 'big city' folk a thing er two.

I don't know what you're into so I'll throw out:

  • Kennedy Space Center (waaaaay east on Hwy 50).
  • While you're in the area, visit the Warbird Museum. Nice folks run that place. Let me sit in a retired F-14.
  • Billy Lane has his Choppers Inc. shop in Melbourne.
  • More in Orlando: All kinds of dining, golf, and other tourist attractions like Medieval Times (go hungry & be prepared to get dirty)

If you've never been, try Bahama Breeze for lunch one day - the seafood ain't bad.

If you like Italian, try Palma-Maria's if it's still there. Best Italian food in the state.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Race Rock or whatever that one restaurant is called, you can't miss it. Of course all the shopping and any of many theme parks. You'll won't be able to see/do it all so just go to whatever sounds interesting to you.

Wow, thank you. I will be printing everything out to make sure I don't miss a lot of that stuff. I love museums. The wife on the other hand isn't all into history. She wants to shop, ride rides at themes parks, and ride somethin else late at night. LOL.
