yeah, i didn't plan on running with the a/c... no one runs the 1/4 mile or on a track with the a/c on... so i wouldn't waste my time. i am however aware of the cost to get my car on the dyno. but in the long run, the inital cost is not as much as additional runs... so why not get as many pulls as i can with different mods on them?

if you can get me a picture of the "screw" i need to adjust to "pin" open the secondaries that would be great.

also any mods that are not complete (i.e. ready to bolt on) could you please get them to me ASAP so i can go over what needs to be done to finish them, so i don't waste time trying to figure them out on the dyno...

thnx.

so far here i what i have

1) 65mm tb - rara
2) 80mm maf - tcobra
3) pin open secondaries - sandman33
4) th fix - TheContourGuy (not sure if i will do this one)

i am offically a troll... so take my information and advice with a grain of salt.

I can't get pics in time, I don't have a digital camera. frown

See this thread for a description of the set bolt for the secondaries. It is not "pinning" them open all the way, just a tiny amount (about 7 - 15 degrees). I think this provides just enough airflow to take some advantage of the second intake valve before the secondaries open on their own without causing a drop in low end torque. This extra airflow probably also provides a little tumble inside the combustion chamber, and that should enhance power/fuel economy also. You may or may not see a difference on the dyno. I noticed a bigger difference a week after the mod, when the computer had had enough time to learn the new engine behavior.

I never meant to imply that people ran the 1/4 mile with the AC on ... anyone with common sense knows better. But since when does going to the dyno have anything to do with the 1/4 mile ... the two are completely sperate beasts! Sure, you can tune your car with the dyno to run better in the 1/4 mile, but the two are still seperate. You go to the dyno to see how much HP/TQ your car has ... you go to the track to see if you can get that HP/TQ to the ground to the best of your ability. What I was getting at was finding out how much the AC saps from the engine. Out of pure curiosity of course wink

Also, about the AC cutting out at WOT ... this isn't an instant act, it takes time for the car to figure these things out. I would have to say that the AC robs the engine of at least 15hp, maybe more like 20-25hp, but nobody will know unless you try this.
