When putting my car into gear first thing in the morning the car almost stalls and then idles ok. Upon driving off I do get some hesitation until the engine warms up. Lower upper intakes cleaned, new ect, new iac, new fuel reg, new fuel pump, new plugs, wires look rather new from previous owner. Vacuum harness was replaced so I have all new lines...
When I first start the car, it idles at around 1599 rpm's and after 10 seconds it idles down.
What would cause this problem with a cold engine.
thanks, Bob

Seems to be a little of a mystery. Does the engine lack power? Some of the suggested problems in the Haynes Manual are
Incorrect timing - probably not because it goes away when the engine is warm
Incorrect spark plug gap
Faulty fuel system
Emission control system fault
Compression not correct in one or more cylinder
Anyway, hope this helps a little

No, I don't have any check engine light on at all. No codes all is fine according to the PCM.

Well I have noticed that in the morning when I start the engine and put it in drive, the engine almost dies and while I am holding the brake the idle does come back up and I could then drive off...except for the missing I have when accelerating.

After replacing my TSS on the Transaxle, I now no longer have this problem. It has been two mornings and it no longer almost stalls when put into gear, no change in rpm at all......This was a surprise......
I still have some hesitation, missing on acceleration that I will have to further investigate...

Was the TSS part of the problem?

How did you find the problem? (What was your clue that the TPS was the problem?)
