After I did the clutch on mine, one of my shifter cables popped off. Of course it happened while I was 200 miles away from home. I was able to get to the cables by turning the wheels all the way to the right, and reached my hand all the way into the cavity to re-seat the cable. Just thought this would help instead of jacking it up and all that jazz. Good luck, hopefully it's only worn bushings or the like.
