If any of you guys are looking for a school to attend, I would highly recommend getting into the one at Gingerman, run by CGI motorsports.
I was in a class yesterday, and it was damm fun. They have everybody start in the novice group, which is good, because you get an instructor with you all day, or until they think you're good enough to go alone, and have the capacity to make yourself better without a coach.
A full day of instruction costs 175$, which is actually quite cheap when you factor in the one on one instruction, class time, and 2 1/2 hours of track time. My arms are sore from driving all day yesterday. I think I put 130 miles on my new Z.
If you are planning on something like this, be prepared to go through some tires and brakes. My tires held up great, stock Bridgestone Potenza's. Unfortunately, I killed my rear brakes. After my last session, the rears were just gone, and now the rotors are grooved pretty bad... I should have known better, but at the same time I thought my pads would last more than the current mileage of 2100, track day or not....
It was fun though, so check it out if you wanna haul @$$ and have an educational and safe track experience.
