I see what you're saying and I didn't think about the underside of the UIM being coated, which is obviously most important.
Isn't the ceramic coating supposed to act more as a heat trapper (as used on headers to prevent heat radiating from them) instead of a heat blocker(as in not letting heat into the UIM)? Not too sure, but either way, the prices look fairly cheap so even if it doesn't do much performance wise, it will at least look good.
