I just installed KKM + Miks heat shield in a '99 SVT. Performance is improved and there's a little more rumble, in general, but there's also a high-pitched whine on acceleration.

**Is this normal?**

If it is normal, the pros outweigh the con (i.e., the whine). If it's not normal, any idea what I did wrong?

Do you have the "whine" at idle too? Sounds like you have moosing. You have to do the TH fix to stop it. Directions are in the FAQ.

No whine at idle.

If I put the petal to the floor I hear a high-pitched whine as I accelerate.

If I just blip the throttle I hear a chirp.

If this is a moose, it's a castrated moose!

if it is not TOO loud (like you can't hear it with the radio on low) then it is just the air being sucked into the filter... mine does that a little... kind of like a whisting noise.. not really a whine...

i am offically a troll... so take my information and advice with a grain of salt.

The noise from air being sucked in is TOTALY different from the moosing noise. If you getting the noise when you accelerate then that might be what your talking about, just air being sucked in, but if you have this noise at idle or just cruising around, then its moosing. I have the moosing right now as I took out the TH fix. The moosing goes away when I accelerate.

The whine is normal. I have the KKM & a homemade heat shield and the sound is a bit whiney. The heatshield I made changed the sound a bit.
