I do not think that an intake should be judged solely on how it looks, but as a balance between both looks and performance. Looks have no power increase, but seriously, if looks were not a concern I am sure many would go to Home Depot, buy some dryer hose, tap for the IAT and duct tape an air conditioning filter to the end of it and have it do the same job for a much cheaper price (would you?). I know that right along performance inside the engine compartment of my car, I also want it looking good and like it belongs. However, I will not get into the good looking/bad looking issue again because I am not going to get 100% agreement on that anyways, so why fight it? But to wrap up the point... it is not JUST looks or JUST performance, but a balance between the two that I think matters when dealing with someone's car, especially when there are a variety of aftermarket choices that offer slightly varied performance gains. Now who wants to go get some dryer hose and duct tape? lol... j/k.
