I've read through some it before - but note that most of the 'interesting' wiring checks for the V6 are on the back size of the engine - not easy to get to. What I'd really like to know is which wiring location tends to exhibit the problem *first*. I'd like to avoid ripping things apart, or disturbing the harness more than necessary.

I'll be curious to hear your dealer's reaction to this job. As I understand it, the labor allowance for this job (listed in the 99MO3 document linked from the FAQ) isn't reasonable for a job this complex (7.7 hours for my model and options).
