Cameras stopping crashes
Fewer collisions at intersections with video gear
Dayton Daily News
DAYTON | The crash photos are terrifying. In one, a PT Cruiser slams into an SUV, knocking it off its tires and rolling it over a man crossing the street. In the other photo, a crumpled bicycle remains on the pavement, after its rider pulled into the intersection.
Two crashes. Three people seriously injured in Dayton this week. All because someone ran a red light, police said.
As bad as these crashes and the photos of them were, they're not the full picture.

One of these cameras recorded the crash on Sunday night at Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and West Third Street that left a pedestrian in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital.
The camera caught the PT Cruiser, driven by Betty J. Hayslip, 75, of New Lebanon running the red light and striking a Suburu driven by Albertina L. Walker, 41, of Dayton, police said. Her SUV flew into the air and crashed into Scott Tegtmeyer, 42, of Dayton.

So he didn't die... at least not immediately. This happened at the end of May. Another story mentioned that the driver hadn't yet been charged, FWIW...
