I am going through the same thing with my daughter's 95 Contour (V6 auto). I first replaced the transmission range sensor and it didn't fix the problem. (I just took a guess and I was wrong) Next, I borrowed a code reader and it said "no signal from VSS" which is the vehicle speed sensor. I have a new VSS on order so I'll let you know if it fixed the problem. I believe that the computer goes to a "limp home mode" when these sensors fail. My daughter's doesn't go into high gear and shift very abruptly.




its OBDI and OBD II, early 95's have OBD I, some mid 95s have OBD II, any 95 bade after i believe may 1995 has OBD II.
