I feel for you man, Detroit is just a really [censored] up city. People talk about it getting better with all the new development or whatever, but its still kinda a $hithole.
Too bad i have to go downtown every day for school at WSU, luckily there is fairly good police coverage on campus. I wander off campus every now and then and make it to events downtown, but it sucks cuz you can never really feel safe, its really a shame...
I hope your mom and brandon feel better and don't get too bummed out.
