While cleaning the glass out of my car I come to find that they actually did steal something. They took the remote for my stereo and my garage door opener. I'm not sure if they took anything that had my address on it or not; I guess we'll have to get new remotes for the garage door now.

yeah, they are dumb, but to play it safe you probibly should change the frequency of your garage door openers. you get an estimate on what its going to cost to repair the window?

SVTmike, I feel for you man, Detroit is just a really [censored] up city. People talk about it getting better with all the new development or whatever, but its still kinda a $hithole. Too bad i have to go downtown every day for school at WSU, luckily there is fairly good police coverage on campus. I wander off campus every now and then and make it to events downtown, but it sucks cuz you can never really feel safe, its really a shame...  I hope your mom and brandon feel better and don't get too bummed out.

You need to change the frequency/remotes immediately. The cops should be made aware of this too, in case the crooks decide to stake out your house. This is getting scary real quick. Your license plate number could be used to find out your address, I think. But for all you know, they could have waited around and followed you home. Why not, they have a free ride into your home. I don't mean to sound paranoid, but face it, these ba$tards have the key to your house--they don't even have to break in.

Amarv12; I also to go Wayne State, I havenâ??t had any problems down there and thatâ??s why we never hesitated to visit downtown. Although I will say that where they were mugged was better lit and felt safer than most places around campus at night.

We will definitely be changing the frequency on the garage door. I'm not sure if they have my address or not, but I do know that there is no way anyone followed me home. I was hauling ass on the way home; they couldnâ??t keep up if they were following.

Cool, last year was my first year, i've probably seen your car before too. I know i've seen one or two silver SVTs and one tinted black one. Good to know.

Sorry about your Mom and best friend Mike, I guess its another "unfortunate incident" according to the Detroit Police chief Elly Bully-Cummings, that what she called the 9 people shot at the fireworks, an "unfortunate incident". Sorry to say this, but the City of Detroit has a LONG way to go before we/they can start patting ourselves on the back, its time to change peoples unbringing and mentality, thats the only way things will ever get better, period and until then, the population and reputation will continue to suffer  Again, I hope your Mom and best friend heal up

Turns out there is bleeding / bruising on her ear drum. They couldnâ??t tell if it was punctured because of the blood. She should be fine though.
