It has been there ever since I got the car, the stock air box never attached to it in anyway, so I'm just confused as to what it's for? Well, I know "what" it's for (pull colder air from the fender) but nothing uses it. Anyone else have this on there Non-SVT?


Simon, that's where the stock SE/GL V6 air box is supposed to connect. The SVT connector is round. If yours wasn't connected, it was missing the little rubber boot that is the same shape as that egg. The SVT piece makes little difference as far as a KKM filter is concerned as the silicone adapter doesn't fit tightly in the hole. I doubt if it makes a diffence in IAT readings at all...
