Let me elaborate on my question. In order for the "heat shield" to shield anything it would have to be high enough so that it is almost in contact with the hood. If it's not what is it shielding. Any significant gap between the shield and the hood and it's not going to be much use at all. If there is something missing in my logic than do tell.

Now if part 1 is correct, then what have we just done? Completely enclosed the filter again, right? So we have a completely enclosed open filter drawing air from just the engine bay. Again, this is just a theory so rip it apart. laugh
