Well, I called KKM today to order my induction kit, and when I hung up the phone I was still empty handed, due to the person on the phone being very rude. I own a 98 SE Sport with the 2.5 Duratech, but I liked the closed off look of the SVT's setup from them a lot better which tied the filter into the fender duct. I would much rather suck cold air from the fender to add to the extra air coming from the engine compartment setup, but do not want to pay good money for something that is going to look homemade (as the guy at KKM suggested I just "stick" a piece of hose into the filter). I like the looks of the chrome adapter on the end with the silicone hose tied into the fender duct. I even have an SVT fender duct on hand ready to accept the round hose. My main question is (based on what I was told my KKM): I thought the kit reused all the OEM sensors and everything, and that all that was eliminated was the stock air box. What "mounting hardware" would the SE not be able to use that the SVT would (same body style???) and how do the kits really differ? If I could get the chrome piece with silicone adapter at the end to finish the job off and make the filter look like it belonged there and wasnt hanging in mid air that also served to bring in fresh outside air, I would have no problem ordering the plain jane kit for the standard Duratech and then adding the silicone hose and chrome plate to the end, but you can only get those end pieces in a kit unless you want to chop up some dryer hose or whatnot from home depot, and even then the chrome piece is missing. Also, ANY pictures you can show me which demonstrate the differences between the two or websites, etc would be appreciated. If I do end up modifying the SVT KKM kit, I want to have a plan rather than spending money on it and being stuck between a rock and a hard place with a kit that will never be any good. Thanks guys.
