your talking about the car scion right (not the two minivan/wagon ones)? if so, i dont think they look to bad. they have toyota quality, will have an aftermarket, and IIRC they arent very expensive new. i dont think it would be a bad choice.

i think this looks pretty nice for an economy car. much nicer looking than a Civic or a Focus, IMO.

160 HP 4-cyl 2.4 liter...sounds like a lot of untapped tuning potential to me.

my only fear is the rice-out factor.

I think the Tc looks pretty nice but I have not seen one in person yet (only pictures) and I have not driven one yet.

The Tc is only just now starting to roll into dealerships around the country and many places already have a waiting list for them right now.

If you check out the forums over at http://www.scionlife.com you can get an idea of the type of people that are buying them and what type of mods they are planning.

The 6 and the scion aren't in the same category at all really- one's a small coupe and one's a mid-size 4 door...why not just go for a mazda 3 if the 6 is too expensive; i think it's cooler looking than the scion, and it's probably similar in price to the scion (i'm not sure about that, but i can't imagine a huge price diff?)

I think it's about time to rid of the tour... Lately, I've been looking at budget cars and I believe the best bang for the buck would be the Scion TC. I live deep in the woods of Kentucky so there isn't any much competition on the Mazda 6s. The dealer here would not budge at $27k for the 6s.

Use CarsDirect.com

I didn't use them, but many people on Mazda6Club.com in very similar circumstances did and with very good results. You buy your car on CarsDirect.com for basically S-Plan pricing, get all the applicable rebates and finance options, and you just pick up your car at your local dealer when it arrives.

Dont get a Scion....
1. I have never seen a scion on the road.... because it seems noone wants em
2. Ive now seen more Chevy Aveos than that POS... (Aveos suck ass too...)
3. I Cant find a single person out here who likes em!!!

Probably because you don't have a Scion dealer nearby. They've only just made it to the Central US. Even the big DFW Metroplex just got their first a couple months ago.

When I was in CA a couple months ago they were all over the place. I was amazed that such new cars made up such a large % of what was on the road.

We have a dealer in tacoma wa, about 20 min south of me, I see scions everywhere, well, specially that I am watching for them. saw a red tc, and a white one... very nice, I am also looking into getting one after my insurrance goes down. I mean come on $250 for a 6 year old car. nah, I can pay $300 for a new one. and my insurrance does down like I said, so It will even it out very nicly, give or take a few dollars. the scion tc, looks amazing.

I am on the road alot... I See more H2's on the road than that POS... and the H2s are pretty damn ugly too...

Just my $.02

This is hands down the best and most knowledgable opinion expressed in this post. I cannot even compete. So when I say buy that SCION Tc you all can look at me and laugh at my stupidity. Because there are in fact more Chevy Aveo's on the roads of Illini than this afformentioned Scion.

My .02$

While I haven't driven one (who here has?) I think the tC looks like a great deal. Features and price to compete with a Hyundai but with Toyota quality, sounds like a winner to me.

Someone mentioned the TRD supercharger, I think it might already be out? But I could be wrong

Thanks for you opinion guys. The reason why I am looking at the Scion is because

1. I am single, 22 and my insurance cost should be pretty low considering it is a sports coupe.

2. Supercharger, supercharger, supercharger... for only 3k more as a factory option.

3. I have not seen any other cars fully loaded with a moon roof, disc brakes, 17" rims and pretty much decked out car for under 20K.

4. The only mods that it would need is a lip spoiler to make me totally happy with the looks of the car.

and finally

5. The rear seats recline for.....

Anyway, I just wanted to check out your opinions if you heard of anything bad about them. I've been on Scionlife and they mentioned the two things that could possibly go bad would be the dash cd player cover and the moon roof (the way it is designed).

Also, it has the same engine as the 04-05 Camry's and I would like to know if it is reliable.
