I think it's about time to rid of the tour... Lately, I've been looking at budget cars and I believe the best bang for the buck would be the Scion TC. I live deep in the woods of Kentucky so there isn't any much competition on the Mazda 6s. The dealer here would not budge at $27k for the 6s.
So what are your opinions on the Scion TC?
EDIT: not to mention $3k in repairs on my tour over the last 3k miles would have been a nice down payment for a new car.

i like it. i think it looks good, it's a Toyota, and it will have a huge aftermarket in a matter of a few months. plus the price is right. sounds like a good upgrade from a tired Contour to me.
have you considered used? i bet you an find a 1 or 2 year used Mazda 6 or Honda Accord for about the same price as the tC.

Yes I have considered used but for a change I would like to be the first owner of the car instead. The last time I sat in a car with the new car smell was in 1997.

Scion looks good. Great price. Tons of aftermarket. It's Toyota so the reliability should be average to good.

Around here I've seen a ton of Scions on the road considering their niche market.

It's going to be a great $16K car, but if you can, hold off till later in the year when the 200 hp supercharged option becomes available. Then compare it to the $27K Mazda 6.

You live in the midwest, my friend. Head to either coast of the country and you'll find that american made cars make up much fewer of the cars on the road.
I'm not settled on the Scions yet. I think the xA is nasty, the xB is kinda cool (in that unaerodynamic shoebox styled vehicle kinda way), and I'm undecided on the TC.
If there's really going to be a 200hp version, thats super cool. Toyota knows how to build 'em, and I'd be surprised if their QC didn't trickle into Scion.
