Check this out man. I read all of it before buying new wires and plugs.
http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htm By the way, I just got my wires and spark plugs changed for high quality parts. The spark plugs are Bosh Platenum +4 and the wires are 8mm Racing ?? (Used in race cars). Anyways, compared to my older wared out wires and spark plugs it made a difference but I didn't gain any power. The only thing I can say is that the engine seems to run a little bit smoother when running IDLE.
The total cost was 200$ Canadian so if your doing it to gain power I wouldn't do it. If you intend on keeping your car for a long time it's worth it since the plugs are warrantied for 100 000km and the wires are warrantied for the life of the engine so that's the only advantage I can see.
My mechanic (which does Easy Street racing and Super Street racing) said that if you change your chip for a superchip or a diablochip it's important to get better wires. I don't know how true this is but I trust the guy since he know more than I do!!
Hope this helps. Don't forget to check the link.
