I have a Rio Karma. It cost me about $250 for the 20gig from amazon.com. In my opinion it is much better than the Ipod. The Karma is smaller, and has many more features. The ~13 hour battery life is great for the car. It also comes with a small dock that has rca, ethernet, and usb 2.0 output. It comes with the corresponding cables to. So, is your HU has aux. input, you would be all set with the Karma. You'll love the Rio DJ too. Just set it to "Entertain Me" and no fumbling with it while driving. I bought all the necessary hardware, and I connected the adapter to the head unit, but still nothing works...  After connecting the auxilary input adapter to the head unit and plugging in the Ipod, I can't find the signal. If i cycle through the controls from "off" "cd" "tuner" I get no "aux" or "CD-2" function. Any ideas? I thought all I had to do was plug everything in, but i guess i was wrong  Thanks in advance!

Check your manual you might need to go into a setup menu and turn on the Aux input before you can select it that way.

I tried that, all the manual said was "if the aux input is connected but it does not show up on the screen, then contact your nearest service center." So i'm not sure what to, I plan on calling a car audio place tomorrow after work, but I'm afraid they might tell me I need to bring it in and toss them $50 just to look at it...

try reseting the head unit by unpluging the harness on the back

well, did you go to the menu options and see if your aux input selection is 'ON'. . .I forgot to do that when I hooked up my Ipod to my aux on my alpine head unit. . .

Look in your manual for the reset button. I needed to reset my Kenwood unit when I hooked up a Sirius tuner to get it to recognize its presence.

I found the reset button, pushed it, and still nothing. I disconnected the head unit, I have checked all the wiring connections, but I can't get the receiver to pick up the ipod. Any other ideas?
