I just installed a PS2 in my Z last night, and i'm getting alot more static than what seems reasonable. I have a switched audiovox FM modulator, and I get the static on both frequency settings, most of the time. It kinda comes and goes.
I don't know what's causing this. Anybody do something similar? I have the audio and video connections run up through the center console, into the head unit and the LCD. Is there any quick methods to see what's causing this, or filters/etc., I can install to get rid of it? This is not my first use of a modulator, and the last one (part of a pioneer changer) worked great, no static at all.......
?????
I know i'm not an SVT owner anymore, but the Z forums are full of jerks that would rather critique your install than help....

Hmmm kinda sounds like what I have seen here lately. Alot of lock topics and banned people.

Sorry, as far as the PS2 I have no idea about what might of caused it, but I am interested as I am going to put a DVD player and a few monitors in my contour and want to know what will fix it if it happens to me.

imo...

fm modulators are extremely suceptible to noise. some are better than others, thus why your pioneer wasnt so bad. i'd honestly find a h/u with inputs for the cleanest sound.

Thanks for posting that pic holmes. I'm gonna try to separate the wires somewhat, especially from the power which runs right alongside the signal wires. That may help, along with some type of insulation. If it does, i'll let you know my results so you can plan ahead on your installs.

Sweet car! My friend just got a Infinity G35 and he put it on 20's I haven't seen it yet but I can't wait. He traded his new RX8 in for it.
