Here was my experience.
At first I thought it was just the pedal sticking. So, I went under the car and started playing with the throttle plate under the hood to see if it was sticking. I'd start with this.
Does it stick, or is it only when you use the pedal?
You only have to worry about 1 cable, so that's a little easier than those of us with TC. The cable could be frayed somewhere within the sheath, causing it to stick.
If you are able to determine it is a throttle problem, then I'd just replace it. Its real easy to do.
