that is a bone stock dirty engine bay!

and don't worry, there is no more coolant in there...after I blew my headgasket it all seemed to disappear

I had better pics and with my engine bay clean but I lost them when i re-installed windows

I guess I could take more but I don't really like to look at my car when its done.

There is a hole drilled where the intake goes through and a filter sits right in front of the fender liner.

its in the fender well. thats the point so it sucks in only cool outside air not heated by the engine bay. colder air is denser air.

looks like you might have problems with the filter getting soaked driving in the rain. yes/no? or dont know yet?

doubt that would ever happen, any water coming up from my tire is protected by the fender liner (under than that small crack) and to do any real damage it'd have to be flooded and that would never happen here.

Why do you have your tire on backwards?

Directional tires=the biggest marketing ploy ever. Tirerack tested them in the right direction and in the wrong, and having them right made the car a whole tenth of a second faster on a wet lap, woooo hoooo.

Try driving those on the Interstate in the rain when they're on backwards. Ever see a Contour float at 60 mph??

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
