I'm thinking
1) pretty much nobody makes 3.0+L 4 cylinder engines at all
2) It has to be an aftermarket modified engine

He's a mechanic that owns his own shop - and I've heard him talk about the GM 3800 V6 more than a few times. I'm wondering if when I finally get to pop the hood I'll either:

1) Find a V6-3800 (GM)
2) Find a stock 2.2L V4 (Honda)

At this point,I'm thinking that if it's anything other than a stock engine, it's going to need some extra lookin-over or just pass -- special engines tend to mean 'special people' drove it that probably abused it.

I think that Lotus made 4 bangers well over the average size. But Honda?

(newer Accords may have a 2.4L 4-cyl, IIRC)
