Only times I took my car to shop was: 1.Soon after I first bought car, had some bad pulleys, I bought pulleys and told the shop to replace them, problem fixed. 2.Took it to a shop because of a recurring CEL I couldn't figure out, well neither could they, I since made it disappear and am surprised it hasn't occured again (yet) 3.To have my cam gears installed, I didn't have all the tools nor did I want to do it

thanks CEG for all of your help.

I took my car to the dealer one time. The dealer will NEVER see my car in their bays for service - EVER! I will also avoid ALL Pep-boyz service bays. I won't even buy tires there any more. I'll buy parts only if there is no other source.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Actually I trust myself and most members of this site more than the average ford "technician".

true true. there are quite a few people on this site i would go to well before a "general" mechanic or "ford technician." not that i havent met some good mechanics, but for one many people on here have much more experiance with our specific problems. secondly, if i cant figure out whats wrong, or if i cant fix it, i want to know what i need before i go to a mechanic so i dont have to deal with them trying to sell me stuff i dont need.
