Hello all, got an svt oil cooler, and wondered if anyone has any pics of the cooler lines that go to it.
I have the ford diagrams, but want to see some of the cooler itself.

Does it need any gaskets when you screw it in?

Only thing I can help you with is, it takes an O-ring when it mounts to the block. I'd replace that.

where to get the o ring from?

There should be an o-ring on it already on the side that mounts to the block (side with locating pin). The o-ring is glued in place. The other side does not need an o-ring since the oil filter provides one. If you're cooler didn't come with the glued-in o-ring, bring it back.

I'm not sure if the o-ring itself is available through Ford service.

As for the hookups, you could also take a look at an Escape or Mazda Tribute with the 3.0L and the tow package. These use the exact same cooler as the SVT. Only the tow package has the cooler though. 1999-2002 Mazda MPVs with the 2.5L also use this cooler.

I am assumming that you are trying to add this to a Cougar by your screen name. One other option which may or may not help is that the Cougars in Europe were factory equipped with the oil cooler. Maybe you could get the lines from a source in Europe. Just a thought.

Can't tell from those pics. They're not real close up and that thing needs a bath. DJ, it shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Either there's a rubber o-ring glued on there or not. The rest of the cooler is entirely metal and will not feel like rubber.

Either there's a rubber o-ring glued on there or not. The rest of the cooler is entirely metal and will not feel like rubber. The o-ring would be on the side shown in the 1st & 3rd pics posted. It's not real big, about 3mm in diameter and will fit into a groove where the black paint stops. (no paint allowed in the groove so the glue sticks).

naw the o ring isnt there... i went through that when i had a leak coming from there the o ring goes on the cooler side bordering the black. it doesnt really stick there it kinda hangs loose so you gotta be real careful installing it and make sure its still seated when you begin to screw it in. Now make sure the adaptor bolt has the oring in the middle aswell or else GUSH oil everywhere.

Did you buy the missing o ring and adapter...or did it come with it svttour?
