Thats not true. I ordered a new oil cooler from ford and it did not have the o-ring on the middle of the threads. I took it back to ford and we looked up the picture of the part and sure enough it was there in the pic with no part # for the o-ring. So the manager got hold of the people at a ford main office, he then faxed me something that said that o-ring was no longer need because it didn't do anything. No specifics on why.

You could just take it to your local auto parts store match up an o-ring there...

O ring is a ford part you can order from em...ill post my diagrams of the 3l and 2.5L models I have

I also have some svt heads/cams ill post some pics of also
