They are just reselling a FACTORY FORD PART (and finally the latest revision it appears!)

You could save yourself almost half that $145 by buying one from Bill.

My 3M4Z oil pan kit was ~$75. (pan, gasket, and all hardware)

I saw absolutely no improvement in 'smoothness' and I've read tons of posts in the past reporting the same results. I did notice that the engine doesn't want to rev up as fast as it did before I put it on, probably due to the extra rotating mass. In fact, when the 3.0 goes in, the DMD won't.

I did not say the DMD protects against excessive crank vibration but I did install the DMD for that reason (just in case). Even if the DMD does not protect against excessive crank vibration, the DMD is worth it due to the smoother feel of the drain train. I definitely noticed a much smoother feel in the drive train of my 2000 SVT after I installed the DMD. I love how smooth my engine revs up with the DMD. I even had a CEL go off after I installed it. I just reset the CEL and the CEL never came back. I forgot the code but it was something with cylinder #5 misfire.

That is my experience. I guess you experienced nothing with your DMD. On one note, Ford did put the DMD on their cars in Europe. There must be some reason why. Ford does not just reengineer a part for nothing, trust me on that one. It may of just been for smoothness or some other reason.

The DMD did not cure your misfire. If you enjoy it, great. I(and alot of other CEGers) noticed no difference at all in smoothness and I just don't think its worth the noticable drag on the engine IMO. And I also feel the DMD gets ALOT more credit than it deserves.

Mine sucked too! Weird how some cars act differently to it.

I've installed DMDs on my brother's 95GS, my 96SE and my wife's 98SE. I'm getting pretty good at installing them now!

In all 3 cases, the Duratecs were much smoother at higher RPMs. Even if the DMDs won't make the engines bulletproof (and what will?!), at least I can enjoy the smooth operation until something major does break -- then it's 3L time!

does that 3M4Z work with all the 3Ls? i know that the different year blocks had some confusion on the 3L pages. was it fairly easyto install, for a mechanically inclined person? oh yeah and DEMON is my hero

How can you think the DMD had anything remotely possible to do with a misfiring problem?
