Hey all,
Got my DMD installed, stealership charged $100 to do it including new seal and serpentine belt. I probably could have done it myself, but I don't have time to have a my car apart for a day or two if something went wrong. For $200 total and no trouble for me, I'd say its a mod well worth doing. If you're thinking about it, do it, it makes a difference. Car feels much smoother, although I don't know if it will hepl engine life much, since I'm revving higher and more often that I used to

Yeah I know what you mean. I tend to rev higher after I installed the DMD. I think the DMD is worth it just for the smoothness.

Just do not be fooled...always check your oil level on a regular basis. #1 cause of spun bearing is oil starvation.
Even with the DMD on my car i still spun a bearing.

Trust me it is a nice feel, and it is a great feeling haveing smooth reves, but its a combination of preventative mantanence and common sense that truly prevents all catastropic events to our cars.

Yes I am well aware that the DMD may just provide smoothness and not offer any other protection. I always use at least 6 quarts of Mobil 1 and recommend everyone else do the same.

The more I think about it, the more I don't believe in the wonders of the DMD. I've never seen one contour die of excessive crank vibration, its not like this is a harsh engine to begin with. I saw absolutely no improvement in 'smoothness' and I've read tons of posts in the past reporting the same results. I did notice that the engine doesn't want to rev up as fast as it did before I put it on, probably due to the extra rotating mass. In fact, when the 3.0 goes in, the DMD won't.

6 quarts seems like prudent advise. I will follow that.

I had DMD for about a year now and can say it's definate improvement. Worth the time and money( self install ). Now I can hear the valvetrain 'noise' where before it was engine 'boom'. Nice.

They are just reselling a FACTORY FORD PART (and finally the latest revision it appears!)

You could save yourself almost half that $145 by buying one from Bill.

My 3M4Z oil pan kit was ~$75. (pan, gasket, and all hardware)

This is all very old and rehashed information. If you already lost that extra $70 and ordered it from CTA then you should have SEACHED first.
