I did a similar mod awhile ago, but used this stuff called "blackout tape" and its used to cover up unwanted chrome trim. I then ordered the small SVT emblem from the mid 90's Cobra/Lightnings and placed it in there FWIW, I did the same to the front and its still holding up!
