I blew the motor in my 96 contour (2.5) and had it replaced. They now tell me I have a bad cat and can't tell me which one is bad (the local ford dealer idiots). Has anyone ditched the cats and gone with straight exhaust off of headers? I don't have emmision requirements where i live.

I've done it and I think the main issue will be to find someone who will do it.

I think gutting the precats is getting a pretty strong vote right now. I'll just have to crawl under there and see what I'm up against.
