Tearing up the lawn doesn't really matter to me as it is already in rough shape and needs to be worked on anyway. The last guy to live hear used to plow the entire front yard so there are piles where the plow would stop! 
Thanks for the offers. I may take you up on them! Jay's "Mad Scientist" advice applies to lawn care too? I did not know that!
