has anyone else had trouble putting in the superwhite bulbs? maybe i am just stupid or something but i can't seem to get the bulbs to insert far enough for the tabs to get under the plastic thing. admittedly i did not push very hard but i did not want to break anything. i don't know if it makes a difference but i noticed that the base of the piaas is thicker than the stock sylvanias......and the numbers match. any ideas?

ALright I got the install almost done... is there any trick to splicing the wires, or just strip, solder, tape? Which wires on the car connect to which on the piaas? Does it matter?

The wires that go to the stock oem have a plug at the the end, cut that plug off and splice the wires back (two wires)
on the piaa wiring you have wires that come off the piaa and plug into another set of piaa wiring, you don't need all those relays and crap so cut them off and splice it together with electrical tape.

I haven't opened the box yet as I have been doing other things. I've been packing two cars in preparation to taking my youngest daughter to college in the morning.  Question: did you use different bulbs than what is in the box or will I find the right bulbs when I open the box? Thanks, Tom

The bulbs are inside the piaa housing already

I've done the wiring, but mounting them is an adventure for me. Since I have a non stock front bumper I'm having to make brackets.

Finding time has been an adventure for me. I don't want to try and do them real quick so I'm waiting for a Sunday off. I spent the last one painting calipers and rotors silver and this Sunday is my youngest daughter's B-day-the one I just took to college. Luckily she's only an hour away so we'll be together. To all you young "studs" out there, don't worry, your day will come. Anyway, I hope the install will be as easy as Slimshady says it is. As anyone knows who has read some of my posts, I tend to get frustrated quick. We'll see.

Slimshady's instructions tell you to remove the tabs from the PIAA's, but you don't have to. Simply mount the housing up-side down and be sure to flip the lens so that "PIAA" will be right-side up when they're mounted.
Instead of using a dremel tool to remove the excess plastic from the factory mounting brackets, I simply took each bracket over to my oscillating spindle sander (from my woodworking habit) and sanded off the excess in no time flat.
To make the lights easily adjustable, I made a rubber washer to fit between the factory bracket and the PIAA housing on each screw. I made the washers by cutting 1/8" or thinner pieces off the end of some vaccuum hose. Works like a champ!
To connect the wires, I cut off the connectors and about 3" of wire, from the PIAA harness. I spliced those wires to the factory wires with "Quick Connect" connectors. I didn't even have to remove the factory connectors! (Just be sure to tape up the connectors so there's no chance of a short later on.)
Re-installaion was pretty easy and with the added rubber washers, adjustment is simple: push the light up or down as required. The rubber washer maintains enough tension to keep the light in place.
