You'll likely have to clean it when it's off the car. It's not hard to remove and only takes about 15mins to remove it. I had mine off when I was inspecting my secondaries and found the same thing, so while I was insp. I had it soaking in combustion chamber cleaner then rinsed it out with hot water. It may take a couple of times to get it clean but it's worth it.
