also reccomend a 6 wagon, or a 3 series wagon.

yeah, the XC70s are nice and fun to drive as well, but if you're jumping into the high 20's for a wagon, get an Audi Allroad Quattro instead.

Completely adjustable air suspension, AWD, xenons, 2.7T engine, 6-sp manual, large wagon capacity, car-like ride, SUV-like snow-bashing capabilities. Plus, you get that great Audi style... the perfect grocery getter if you can't have an RS6

Forester ALL THE WAY

You have to appreciate an SVU that can pull those kind of numbers. The first time I read about one in Car & Driver, I fell in love. Its such a sleeper man. Plus it's a family hauler when needed. GET THE FORESTER!!

no way! i have 3 friends with VWs (1 Golf and 2 Jettas) and they have had NOTHING but nagging problems with those cars. everything from electricals to engine failure to transmission problems. one of them just traded his Jetta for an Accord and he is so much happier.

i don't know what's going on with VW lately, but they need some serious QA in their factories.

Is the Vue redline available in AWD/4WD? I thought I read it was a FWD only.

How about a Magnum SXT? Not too bad fuel mileage, decent power with the 3.5L, AWD coming in fall if you think you need it.

Subaru Forester XT

You'll be happy. If not, look for an off lease (newly used) Volvo XC90...

I think any vehicle for the wife would be a good trade.
