Doesn't eliminate the problem - your computer has the PATS code for your car (and keys). You could stick another computer in, but the internal PATS code won't match your key. I expect that Ford could re-program a new set of keys for you, but they screw you for big $ to do a re-programming if you lose your keys, so I expect that same big $ charge would apply. Or you could get an aftermarket chip, though never having had one I don't know how they get around PATS.
