I agree with the discrimatory ladies night, either eliminate it, or make a "men's night" but that would just be downright disturbing... So, just eliminate Ladies night.

Well... I go to very few places that charge cover, in fact, I will avoid bars the charge cover unless I am outvoted or no such place is available (many bars/clubs in Minneapolis do not charge cover, and I tend to avoid those).
Profit of liquor sales is actually even more lucrative for govenment than from cover charges. Part of the cost the bar has to pay for the alcohol is excise taxes paid to the federal and frequently state/local governments.
Therefore, if a waived cover charge is offset to the same profit by increased liquor sales, government is getting more money as they are collecting more liquor excise taxes and the same income taxes.

exactly. of course, the bars and clubs do not mean to be discriminatory, but technically they are doing so. the reality is that no one cares (including me), and everyone wins- girls get in free, and guys get surrounded by women, on a night which would have otherwise been a sausage fest....

I hate that a business can't run it like it wants. Who cares if they have ladies night. Who cares if it's a White/Black/Yellow/Purple only bar.. I could give a flying fart. People should be allowed to run their business as they see fit.

So can I run a bar that doesn't let you in? I'm not trying to be mean, but would you still be saying that if I ran a night that didn't let you and your friends in? I really don't have much of an opinion on this, but i think its an interesting argument.

Actually, chances are, if I weren't allowed in somewhere, I'd probably be considered a minority. I wouldn't want to be there anyway, you know, "what's in it for me"?
Ladies night is totally different than actually banning people from entering...discuss

Ladies nights are designed so that bars don't turn into sausage parties!

I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
