To me... ideas like "skirt nights" that give the discounts to anyone wearing a skirt are a lot more fun, not based specifically on a demographic (man/woman/age...) and accomplish much the same result.

However, as much as I may not like them, there is no requirement for someone to go to a specific bar/nightclub on a given night, so government has no place getting involved in this issue.




I completely agree with you, but there are some instances, like senior discounts, where prices are (need to be) based on demographics. How many pancakes can grandma really eat at the buffet line? It wouldn't be right to charge granny, who can eat two, the same price they charge me, who puts down a dozen. Also, insurance premiums are based on demographics as well. Granny would need to fork over much more for a life insurance policy than I would.
