the "ladies night" is based on pure economics:
-the men will go where the women are
-given the choice, women (and men for that matter) are more likely to go somewhere popular when it is free versus having to pay for it
-so the more women a bar or club can get to attend the more men are likely to show up.
-the more people in attendence the greater are the chances of mingling
-ect, ect, ect,
-basic economics




The problem is that you're not thinking like a tax official. You're thinking like a bar owner. The amount drunk isn't going to go down; no tax loss there. True, there will be some that will drop away from the bar scene, but I'm willing to bet the amount of revenue on cover charges will MORE than make up for the one's that don't want to pony up $5-10 just to get into the door...
