I enjoy the bar scene about as much as would a case of the plague (upscale clubs are a different story), but this is just f**king idiotic.
I guess women that b!tched about equal rights for years are now finally getting them in spades...
Now that I've got that off my chest, I completely understand why state governments are doing this, though:
TAXES.That's probably 52-60 nights a year per club that millions of women are getting in without dropping a cover charge; say about 40-50% of the club population that particular night.
Say that cover charge is only $5.00 (I'm being conservative here).
Getting the picture yet? More revenue = more tax dollars.
Scratch anything and there's a buck underneath it. In this case, there's probably tens of millions in tax revenue that will be dug up...
...all under the auspices of EQUAL rights.
