FYI most common adhesives are probably a waste of your time. Epoxy, JB Weld to be specific works, or so I've heard, but it's extremely difficult to get into the small area in a controlled way (especially with a two part epoxy). I tried three different types of pretty exotic sounding adhesives and none of them wuold stick to the dash vinyl.

Then, I fed a zip tie (woohoo for zipties once more!) through each of those holes I punched and looped it around the metal frame directly below that black plastic grille/molding/air deflector and pulled it as tight as I could. Then you just fit the black plastic piece in over the top and it hides the cheating very nicely. Suprisingly, it worked very well for me. If you want a picture of the end result, email me, I dont know how to post pictures in these forums.
yeah sure a pic would be nice. now i have more ideas to fix this problem.

well i went out to home depot and got soem epoxy, mixed it up and tried to apply it. it was hard tryign to get in there so i used my fingered to smear it in there. i hope it works. right now i have got my fiancee's real heavy medical books weighing it down. if this doesn't work. i might try the wire tie thing. it seems pretty simple. what did you use to punch a hole through those tabs? this might be the best method top do since it is covered up by the black piece. did you use real thin write ties? looks like tomorrow i will be using "good off" to get some of the glue i got on the windshield and a little bit on the dashboard. that stuff works great.

the length of the zip ties doesnt matter that much as you cut off the excess when you are done. Just make sure they arent more than about an 1/8 of an inch wide so that they'll fit through the small holes that the cotter pin remover makes.
