My headlightlenses are quite scratchy and not very clear anymore. Can i change just the lens or do i have to replace the entire unit(expencive ).

Tried that, no use. I gues i'll have to replace them.

Did you try to wetsand them? If they are only scratched on the outside than this will cure what ailes you. If it is internal you can cut them open and do it also. If you dont want to do that then go ahead and fork over the $250 to get new ones. Here is a link to the Aesthetics forum FAQ: FAQ!!

They go for a pretty penny on eBay. Sell em. Even garbage ones go for $30 bucks.

EDit: you're from Finland, are your lights clear like ours or refracted like Britains?

If you used your hands to polish but didnt turn out good. NO WONDER! Use a high speed buffer. Makes a Huge difference. Dont wanna spend for a buffer? Buy one local..use it for this and return for a refund!

That's a good deal I think. The new lense will look sooo clear that you'll be surprised how much newer and well cared for your car will look. I put new lamps on my Contour and you don't realize how old and yellow the old ones look until you hold the new one against the old one. I think its worth the price. It's much cheaper than a new car payment to keep your old car and put a few bucks into it once in a while to keep it a little bit nice

Thanks for the advice on sanding them, i'll try that today. Sorry i posted in the wrong forum.
Mine has clear lenses just like al Contours. The Mondeo which was sold here doesn't have clear lenses.

Ok all 98+ Contours have clear lenses.
I wetsanded them today and they really look much better. The store i went to didn't have anything but 1000 and 1200 wetsandpaper but they had some polish whitch is like 1500 and it worked well.The headlights now look great when turened off but when the lights are ON they still look scratchy.
