heres the thing. i have 2 options for tint.

option 1:

-right around the corner (literally!)
-30% front
-1% rear
-LIFETIME WARRANTY AGAINST BUBBLES, SCRATCHES, PEELING OR BROKEN GLASS.

-$169 dollars and an hour without my car.

on the other hand, i can drive 100 miles away (clear into the next city), and i get:

-20% front, with paper signed stating it is in fact 30 %, in case i get pulled over.
-1% rear
-Bulldog Alarm system

for $200 INSTALLED!!!!

heres the kicker, option 2 only comes with a 1 year warranty on everything...

option 1 will fix my tint if anything happens to it for as long as i own my car (which will be forever, save for a total loss accident). my neighbors cars are both tinted by oprion 1 and he is very pleased with the results save for one window wich is peeling: 1 window out of 13 (he has a car and a 4 door car with a sunroof and a exteneded cab F150) aint bad odds. option 2 warranties it for 1 year...and thats it...which is the better deal? im leaning toward option 1 myself because of the warranty, and do i really need an alarm?


besides that...how much of an alarm are you gona get for that price? prolly not a very good one. i think if i lock my doors ill be fine, but i want your opinion.

i have about a month before i can afford to make this happen, so lets hear your thoughts. my plan of action:

1. HU (already have it)
2. Tint
3. Door Speakers
4. Subs
5. Amp

in that order.

Bulldog products are crap. I'm supposed to have a remote starter and keyless entry installed by the previous owner a year before I bought the car. Within a year both stopped working for no reason.

I'd be careful on that second tint option. If your local law enforcement uses light meters no signed papers will help you. I've heard of them being used around here, so check your area. My tint is illegal by WI law, but I'm willing to face the consequences should I get a ticket.

also thanks to chattavegas for helping with the install...he was there. if i needed anything, i could just pick up the phone...though it wouldnt have doine me much good cause i dont have his # . at anyrate, i wouldnt have had the balls to attempt the install on my own, but they talked me into/through it, so i was never alone.

My friend has those same subs and amp in his GTP. Sound isn't the best but alot of bang for your buck.

im not looking for the best, im not in a sound competition, just wanting a little bump in da trunk. thast all.

Stryker- with you're plan of what to get next, I might suggest you buy an amp before the subs. Maybe it's just personal opinion, but I think you'll find it easier to find subs to match your amp, than an amp to match what your subs can handle. However, if you already have it planned out what you're going to buy I suppose it doesn't matter either way.

I have tint as you can see from my sig. and my post, 35% in front and 5% in rear. My fronts have a lifetime warranty, the rears I did myself so no warranty.

For one thing unless you have really good eyesight I would say dont get 20% on the front, I know someone who has it and it is very hard at night to see if the area isnt well lit, and if it raining at night you cant even have the windows up because you it is even harder to see.

About the opinion, I would go with option #1 $169 all around and a lifetime warranty is a good deal. Secondly like someone else said an alarm for $40, yeah sounds like some cheap piece of junk alarm.

Now with that amp, I think you should buy a bigger one. That one doesnt have enough power to push the subs your getting that good. I know, I saw the thing at Best Buy same subs and amp, the guy said he wouldnt recommend using that amp for those subs because the amp doesnt have a lot of power to do, it has like 80 RMS for each sub when used for two subs.
You need to be concerned about RMS power, NOT max. Max means what it can handle for a brief period, RMS is what it do continusley ( not spelled right).

I would research your subs and amp, for the RMS power. Then post about it in the audio forum because you are underpowering your subs.

And for the front side tint, it for live in a major city that has lots of street lights, then you can live with 20%. I have 5% all wround on my Camaro and I'm fine for the most part. The only time I have problems is when I drive way out of the city to my friend's house. Backing up is a [censored] at his house at night.

I voted for option 1 also. I think that with the warranty and the convenience it is a much better deal. I don't know what your area is like with crime but if it was me where I live I wouldn't bother with an alarm, just keep your car locked and the tint would definitely help. Just my 2 cents.
