I hate to say it, but return the damn thing. As far as I'm concerned, any CD that I can't play in
my car or rip to
my mp3 player is defective. In fact, I don't own any other CD players besides my car and computer, so I'd have no way of knowing it wasn't defective. Maybe if the record companies see that their crippled crap isn't wanted by consumers they'll find another way of protecting their billions in revenue.
