after reading the threads on this subject there is still no real proof that a larger tb is the way to go so why do standard duratec owners fit the 60mm from the svt. again has anyone dynoed there standard duratec after this mod. i have a few questions:-
1. does the MAF SENSOR have a max cfm?
2. how does it compare to the CFM OF A 65mm or 70mm tb?
3. what is the max cfm the standard ECU can compute?
4. If the ECU can make ajustments (learn the optium settings) why do people fit superchips(is it because the ajustments are made from a premaped AFR map etc and not reprogrammed in real time)
5.how much fuel is need at WOT (max airflow cfm N/a for 65mm or 70mm tb) to keep the mixture at 14.7 and are the ejectors capable of delivering that much fuel?
i think the ECU is premapped with thousands of vairables based on the original setup. increasing the size of the TB is not a vairable preprogrammed into the ecu. i mean forinstance if you fit a powerflow MAF you have to tell them about the mods you have done so they can calibrate the MAF for you setup. wouldnt this be true of the stock MAF? i belive that there are some gains to be had if a 65/70mm TB is fitted along side a preformance MAF and of course a performance exhaust as i beleve the ecu is geting bogus info from the o2 sensor as it cant get a true reading of the gases on a standard exhaust using a larger TB due to the fact it is so restricted. anyway thats my opinion, ps i know i cant spell its geting late in the uk (01.00am) confused
